Affiliates & Supporting Organisations
Council Tax Reform Campaign works with organisations, researchers, campaigners, elected representatives and Labour Party members who believe the current Council Tax system is outdated, unfair and in need of serious reform.
The campaign exists to help bring together voices from across the Labour movement and wider civil society to support discussion around fairer systems of local taxation and sustainable local government finance.
We recognise there are different views on what reform should look like — including proportional property taxation, land value taxation, local income-based systems and wider reform of local government funding.
What unites affiliated organisations and supporters is a shared belief that the current system is no longer fit for purpose and that Labour should lead the national conversation on reform.

Labour MPs supporting discussion around Council Tax reform
Council Tax reform is increasingly recognised as an important issue across Parliament, local government and the wider Labour movement.
The MPs below have spoken publicly about the need to address the growing unfairness within the current system, the pressures facing local government finance, and the importance of opening serious discussion around reform.
Supporting MPs may hold different views on the precise shape of reform, but share the view that the current system is increasingly difficult to defend and that Labour should engage seriously with the debate.
