The Labour Campaign for Council Tax Reform is building support across Parliament for a fairer system of local government finance.

One of the most effective ways you can help is by contacting your MP and asking them to support the campaign.

We are calling on MPs to back Council Tax reform, support the campaign's objectives and engage with the APPG on Council Tax Reform, chaired by Jonathan Brash MP.

MPs will usually only respond to their own constituents, so make sure you include your full name and postal address in your email.

Subject: Please support the Labour Campaign for Council Tax Reform

Dear [MP Name],

As a Labour Party member and your constituent, residing at the address below, I am writing to ask you to support the Labour Campaign for Council Tax Reform.

[Full Address]

Council Tax is an outdated and increasingly unfair system. Based on property valuations from 1991, it no longer reflects modern property values, regional inequalities or the principle that people should contribute according to their means.

Labour has always stood for fairness, social justice and a tax system that works for working people. Reforming Council Tax would help create a fairer and more sustainable system of local government finance, reduce inequalities and restore confidence in local taxation.

I therefore urge you to support the Labour Campaign for Council Tax Reform and to help build support for change within Parliament and the Labour Party.

Specifically, I ask that you:

• Join and support the Labour Campaign for Council Tax Reform.

• Join the APPG on Council Tax Reform, chaired by Jonathan Brash MP.

• Attend APPG meetings and contribute to its work in developing proposals for a fairer system of local government finance.

• Help build support for Council Tax reform within the Parliamentary Labour Party.

• Support policy proposals that would commit the Labour Party to Council Tax reform.

• Raise the issue with ministers and Labour colleagues and advocate for reform within government and the wider party.

• Meet with campaign representatives to discuss proposals for reform.

More information can be found at www.lc4ctr.org and the campaign can be contacted directly at email@LC4CTR.com.

I would be grateful to hear your views on Council Tax reform and whether you are willing to support the campaign and join the APPG.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

In solidarity,
